Anthony Levett Prinsep (1908-1983) was a painter, sculptor, textile designer and illustrator. Born at Shenstone in Staffordshire, he studied art at the Central School of Art 1931-35. Levett-Prinsep exhibited at The Leicester Galleries, Wildenstein, The Mayor Galleries, and St George’s Gallery, all in London. He had one man shows at The Beaux Arts Gallery and the Drian Gallery (1963 & 1965). His work became increasingly abstract with the passage of time and reflected his interest in West African art which developed during his time there in World War II. He is represented by a textile design in the Victoria & Albert Museum.
