Carlo Rossi, RSW RGI (1921-2010) was a well-known Scottish painter of landscapes, especially noted for his Italian subjects, still lifes, and interiors in oils and mixed media. He was born at Johnstone in Renfrewshire and studied at the Glasgow School of Art and later in Italy. He exhibited with the Royal Scottish Academy regularly from 1946, extensively with the Royal Glasgow Institute from 1941 (elected a member 1978), and also with the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (elected a member 1973). Rossi had several solo shows at Compass Gallery, Glasgow; Strathclyde University; and later at Open Eye Gallery in Edinburgh. He was especially fond of Tuscany, and the town of Barga in particular, and also worked regularly in Venice. His work is held in a number of public collections.
