Dennis Gilbert, NEAC (born 1922) is a well known painter, mainly in oils, of landscapes, portraits, figure subjects, noted especially for his river and coastal scenes.  He was born in London and studied at St Martin’s School of Art 1946-50.  Dennis Gilbert has exhibited widely, including at the Royal Academy from 1951 and the New English Art Club from 1959, Royal Society of Portrait Painters, Royal Society of British Artists and the Paris Salon.  He lectured at Chelsea School of Art for a number of years and has lived in London.
