Frederick Griffin, ROI, NS, SGA (1906-1976) was a painter in oil, acrylic and gouache often of landscape and coastal subjects which from the late 1950s on were usually semi abstract. Born in Nottingham, he studied at Nottingham School of Art, and exhibited subsequently at the Royal Academy from 1966, New English Art Club from 1963-72, Royal Society of British Artists, and was a full member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the Society of Graphic Artists and the National Society of Painters and Gravers.  He lived in Hampstead, London NW3.
