Gerald Parkinson (born 1926) is a well-known painter of landscapes and coastal scenes in oils. He was born at Shipley in West Yorkshire and studied art at Bradford College of Art 1951-54. Parkinson has exhibited with the Royal Academy and the Royal West of England Academy and he has had numerous solo shows of his work in the UK and abroad. His paintings are held in several public collections including Brighton & Hove Museums and Art Galleries, Glasgow Museums and Leicestershire County Council. He found his subjects mainly in northern France, Italy, Spain and in England. He lived in East Sussex for many years.
