Irene Lesley Main (born 1959) is a well-known contemporary Scottish painter, born in Glasgow. She studied painting and drawing at the Glasgow School of Art 1976-80 and won a scholarship to the Patrick Allan-Fraser School of Art at Hospitalfield, Arbroath. She also studied in Italy. Lesley Main travelled widely and had studios in Glasgow and Athens. She has exhibited internationally and had a solo show ‘Home and Abroad’ at Duncan R Miller Fine Arts in 2004. Her work was first shown at the Royal Scottish Academy in 1982 and from 1981 at the Royal Glasgow Institute.
