John Linfield, RWS, NEAC (born 1930) is a well-known painter in watercolour and oil of town scenes, landscapes and of some portraits. He was born in Carshalton Beeches in Surrey and studied at Wolverhampton School of Art. He has exhibited extensively including at the Royal Academy from 1955, at the Royal Watercolour Society (of which he is a member), and at the New English Art Club from 1955 of which group he is also a member. John Linfield has painted widely in Britain and on the continent but he has found many of his favourite subjects in Italy. He lived in Sussex in the 1960s and later in Somerset and Dorset. One of his Italian watercolours is in the permanent collect of the Royal Watercolour Society.
