John Loker (born 1938)

is a well-known abstract painter and printmaker. He was born in Leeds and studied art at Bradford College of Art & Design 1954-58 and later at the Royal College of Art in London where he graduated in 1963. The artist’s first solo show was held at the Angela Flowers Gallery in 1970 and that gallery has continued to exhibit his work over the years. His work is represented in many public collections including Tate Gallery, Arts Council of Great Britain, British Council collection, Cartwright Art Gallery in Bradford, Ferens Art Gallery in Hull, Government Art Collection, Leeds Art Gallery, Manchester Art Gallery and the collection of the Royal West of England Academy. John Loker lives in East Anglia.
