Tom Coates RWS, RP, PPRBA, NEAC (born 1941) is a well-known painter in oils, watercolour and pastel. He studied at Bournville College of Art, at Birmingham College of Art and at the Royal Academy Schools (1961-64). He has exhibited at many group shows, including at the Royal Academy since 1980, and has had solo shows at home and abroad, including at The New Grafton Gallery, Messum’s Gallery, W.H. Patterson Gallery, and The Cross Gate Gallery at Lexington in Kentucky. He is a Past President of the New English Art Club and the Royal Society of British Artists. His work is held in many public and private collections.
