Description: A framed original wood engraving from 1924 of Gordian Gill, the artist's adopted son, signed and titled in the plate and also signed in pencil by the artist with his initials and numbered 20 from an edition limited to 50 prints. Prints of this image on the market are normally from the later edition of 1929 which was not hand signed by Gill. The engraving is in good condition for its age, save for a single faint spot of foxing with the area of the sitter's collar. The framing is generally reasonable, with a chip to the moulding at lower right corner, and it appears to date to about thirty years ago.
