Jean Clark: Jean
Manson Clark, RWS, NEAC (1902-1999) was a painter in
watercolour, oil and tempera of landscapes, portraits
and figure subjects. She was born at Sidcup in Kent,
nee Wymer, and studied at Sidcup School of Art and then
at the Royal Academy Schools. She married fellow artist
John Cosmo Clark in 1924. Jean Clark exhibited at the
Royal Academy, New English Art Club, Royal Society of
British Artists, and with the Royal Society of Painters
in Watercolour of which prestigious group she was
elected a full member in 1972. She lived in London for
many years and later at Woodbridge in Suffolk.
