Robert Stanley G Dent: Robert Stanley Gorrell Dent, RE, RWA (1909-1991) was well known as a  printmaker and watercolourist. Born in Newport, Monmouthshire, he studied art in Newport and at the Royal College of Art in London from 1931. He exhibited widely including at the Royal Academy from 1932, at the Royal Scottish Academy, the New English Art Club, Royal Watercolour Society, Royal Society of British Artists, and was elected a member of the Royal Society of Painter Etchers and the Royal West of England Academy. His work is held in a number of public collections including Newport Art Gallery & Museum, National Library of Wales, and Cheltenham Art Gallery who held a memorial show of his etchings in 1991. Stanley Dent lived for many years at Charlton Kings in Gloucestershire.
