Designer: Charles Eames (1907-1978), Ray Eames (1912-1988)

Two of the most important American designers of the 20th century. Famous for furniture, the couple who married in 1941 were also involved in architecture, manufacturing and industrial design.

In 1946, Evans Products began producing their moulded plywood furniture. Production was later undertaken by Herman Miller, who still produce Eames furniture today in the United States. European production is undertaken by Vitra.

Some of the the Eames' most famous designs include the 670/671 lounge chair (1956), LCW & DCM (1945 & 1946 respectively), and the vast aluminium group (1958)...
