John Ewing: John Ewing (born 1928) is a painter of both figurative and abstract subjects and an art teacher. He studied art at the Royal Academy Schools in the period just after the war, and subsequently obtained his ATD (Art Teachers Diploma) following which he taught art in St Albans and then in Croydon. In terms of his painting he produced a number of views of the River Thames, and coastal subjects, some of which were shown with the Wapping Group of Artists. He also showed his work regularly at the prestigious Piccadilly Gallery of London W1, and at the Camden Arts Centre and the Mall Galleries.
