Flora Wood: Flora Wood (1908-1998) was a well known Scottish figurative painter and sculptor, born in Portobello, Edinburgh. She studied in Florence in the 1920s prior to attending Edinburgh College of Art. Subsequently she met Andre L'Hote and Picasso, and was especially influenced by the latter. Flora Wood exhibited with the Royal Scottish Academy from 1945, and also with the Royal Glasgow Institute, Society of Scottish Artists (she was elected a member in 1955), and the Society of Scottish Women Artists. Her work is held by the Scottish Arts Council and Kelvingrove Art Gallery.
