Paul Maze: Paul Lucien Maze (1887-1979) was a well known painter in oil, pastel and watercolour of landscapes, coastal scenes, figure subjects, and still life. Born at Le Havre in France he was brought up in an artistic atmosphere through his father's connection with the great French painters of that generation. He exhibited in France, Britain and America in particular, and held numerous one-man shows internationally, including at Wildenstein and Marlborough Fine Art. In 1934 he published 'A Frenchman in Khaki'. He lived at Treyford near Midhurst in West Sussex for many years.
