John McCutcheon: John McCutcheon, ROI (1910-1995) was a well known landscape painter in oils and a draughtsman in pen and ink.  He was born in Dalmellington in Ayrshire and studied at the Glasgow School of Art 1929-33.  McCutcheon exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy from 1963, the Royal Glasgow Institute, the Paris Salon, and with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters to which body he was elected a member in 1970. The artist lived in Ayr and he is represented in the Kelvingrove Art Gallery, Glasgow.  He painted mainly in Scotland and occasionally in France.
