Peter Oliver: Peter Oliver (1927-2006) was a landscape painter in both oil and watercolour, and probably most recognised for his Channel Islands subjects especially paintings of his native Jersey undertaken in the 1950s and 1960s.  He studied at Exeter School of Art and later in Liverpool and achieved early success from the mid 1950s, being shown regularly at The Redfern Gallery in London 1955-63. He also exhibited with the London Group, the Royal Society of British Artists, the Mercury Gallery, and the New Art Centre in Sloane Street. During this early period he lived in Manchester. His work is held in a number of public collections including the Tate Gallery, Government Art Collection, and Manchester City Art Gallery.
