Joyce Pallot: Joyce Pallot (1912-2004) was a painter, especially of industrial and dockland landscapes, muralist, designer and teacher. She was born at Brightlingsea in Essex and studied at Southend School of Art. In 1938 she married the artist Henry Collins (1910-1994), and she worked with him over many years on murals and exhibition designs, including for the Festival of Britain 1951, Brussels World's Fair 1958, and Expo 70 in Japan. She and Collins had retrospective shows at The Minories in Colchester in the 1980s.  She was a member of the well known Colchester Art Society and the Society of Industrial Artists and Designers, and also exhibited with the Trafford Gallery in London.
