Edward Piper: Edward Piper (1938-1990) was a well known painter, photographer and printmaker, the eldest son John and Myfanwy Piper. He studied under Howard Hodgkin at the Bath Academy of Art in Corsham for a year and later for four years at the Slade School of Fine Art in London. For about twenty years he produced photographs for the Shell Guides and also undertook graphic design commissions. In later years he focused his efforts on his painting, and is especially noted for his paintings and prints of the nude female figure. He was also a highly accomplished painter of landscapes, including views in   France, Italy and Spain. Eight examples of his lithographs and screenprints are to be found in the collection of the Tate Gallery.
