Brian Harland
Rees (born 1930) is a well known painter, printmaker and
graphic artist, born in Neath, Glamorgan. He studied at
Swansea School of Art 1947-49 and 1951-54, with an
intervening year at the Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts
in London. He produced a number of book illustrations,
including a jacket for Dylan Thomas's 'Under Milk Wood' in
1958 for the publishers J M Dent. Graphic work was also
commissioned for British Railways and Shell. Brian Rees has
exhibited with the New English Art Club, South London Group,
Royal National Eisteddfod, etc. He is closely associated
with his home town of Neath, and his work is now quite
sought after, especially by collectors with associations
with Wales.
