Michael Rothenstein: Michael Rothenstein, RA (1908-1993) was the younger son of the painter Sir William Rothenstein. Michael was a painter of landscapes, figure subjects and abstracts in oils, watercolour and mixed media, and one of most respected British printmakers of the second half of the 20th century.  He studied at Chelsea School of Art and then at the Central School of Arts and Crafts 1924-27 under Bernard Meninsky and A S Hartrick.  Michael Rothenstein exhibited widely, including at the Royal Academy from 1932, and held many one man shows, often with the Angela Flowers Gallery in London.  He was elected ARA in 1977 and RA in 1983.  His work is held in many public collections, including the Tate Gallery, British Museum, Victoria & Albert Museum, and MOMA New York.
