Peter Shackleton: Peter Shackleton (born 1933, Great Harwood, Lancashire) is a painter, ceramicist, and art teacher, best known perhaps for his stylised landscape paintings in oils of subjects in Lancashire. He studied at Accrington School of Art 1948-53 and then at Liverpool College of Art 1954-55. He taught art in Blackburn and enjoyed early success with his own work in shows at the Crane Gallery in Manchester, Crane Kalman in London, and Salford Art Gallery 1959 and 1974. Thereafter much of his time was taken by his teaching responsibilities. Peter Shackleton's work is held in the public collections in Salford and Blackburn.
