Title: Ascending - an original pencil signed lino print, framed       

Description: The present work is an original lino print titled 'Ascending', pencil signed and dated (19)70, and numbered 1 of 20 Artist's Proofs. It was sold by Alan Reynolds' then dealers, The Redfern Gallery, in 1972 and has their label verso. The work was acquired by us from the son of the original purchaser. It is housed in its original frame and is in untouched condition. The frame is large and very solidly made (and heavy!).  Another example of this print was exhibited by The Redfern Gallery in 1974 at their Alan Reynolds show titled 'New Painted Reliefs and Maquettes'.  That exhibition included ten lino prints from 1970-71, all with stated editions of 20, and all large in size (either 40 x 30 inches or 39 x 27 inches). Examples of these prints are now very hard to find...
