Edwin La Dell ARA (1914-1970) is one of our favourite post war
printmakers and painters. He was born in Rotherham, and
won scholarships to Sheffield School of Art and the
Royal College of Art where he studied under John Nash,
and where later he became head of printmaking. He was
elected RBA in 1950 and an Associate of the Royal
Academy 1969. He was a hugely influential printmaker in
particular and his work is held in many public
collections, including the Tate Gallery and the Victoria
& Albert Museum. Many of his prints are also in the
Government Art Collection (see

The present example dates
to circa 1959, and was sold originally by the well known
Heffer Gallery in Cambridge. It is housed in its
original frame and is in lovely fresh condition. The
lithograph is pencil signed, titled and numbered 41 of
50. The image size is about 13.5 x 18 inches...
