Description:  A two tier coffee table in solid teak with ceramic tiled inlay to top designed in the 1950s by A Hovmand-Olsen for Mogens Kold of Denmark.  It has the manufacturers metal disk attached to the underside of the table top and the disk also of the Danish Furniture Makers Control.

We acquired it from the family of the original owner who bought the table from the Oxford Street store of the John Lewis Partnership in the 1960s.  It must have been a special order as the lower tier is normally in rattan and the rattan was replaced by teak to match the table top.  The table is in good vintage condition, with some evidence of surface scratches, a chip to one of the ceramic tiles, and a small chip to one end of the table top (see image).  It is very sound structurally.

The table measures 58.5 inches x 18.5 inches in width being slightly wider at the centre than at the ends. It stands 16.7 inches in height...
