Description:  Peter Matthews is known primarily as a printmaker and he is a member of the prestigious London Group.  He studied at Ealing School of Art 1957-62 and later spent some time working in Sweden, where he became a member of the Swedish Printmakers Association.  He returned to England in the 1970s and his work is held in a number of public collections, including the Victoria & Albert Museum; Arts Council of Northern Ireland; Albertina Museum Vienna; and Free Library, Philadelphia.

This original colour etching measures about 17 x 19.4 inches image size and about 27 x 29.5 inches inside its 1970s frame.  The etching is in excellent condition and appears to have full margins (not examined out of the frame).  The frame is in acceptable condition but there are a few chips and other losses.

The print is signed, dated (19) 73, titled and numbered 17 of 50...
