Artist: KENJI KUSAKA (Japanese - born 1936)

Title: ABSTRACT (framed original signed and editioned Japanese Woodblock)

Description:  Kenji Kusaka was born in Tsuyama in Okayama prefecture, Japan.  His work has been shown internationally at such prestigious events as the print biennale shows in Tokyo, Sao Paulo, Florence and Ljublanja, and he is represented in the Tokyo National Museum, Library of Congress Washington DC, and in the Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco. He is noted for his strong use of colour and his prints are well collected in the United States and Europe.

This original woodblock print is housed in what we think is its original frame.  It is in very good condition save for some minor discolouration in the margins (the inside of the glass is also a little grubby but we do not think this affects the image).

The print is pencil signed in both Japanese and English (as Ken Kusaka), dated 1972, and is numbered 20 of 40 prints only. It measures about 21 x 15 inches image size and about 30 x 24 inches in its frame...
