Simon Bull has achieved international renown as a
painter and printmaker, and since 2003 he has lived in
Carmel, California. In the late 1970s and early 1980s
he produced a series of meticulously worked etchings of
English subjects which were published by the Pallas
Gallery and later by London Contemporary Art. He has a
love of Yorkshire and the Lake District. In 2000 he won
the Fine Art Trade Guild award for the top-selling print
artist in Great Britain, and his work is much collected
in Britain and abroad.
The
present work is titled 'Arncliffe' and is pencil signed,
dated 1985, and numbered 15 from an edition of 200
original prints. It is on handmade paper with deckle
edges, and is in excellent condition. The image size is
about 12 x 16 inches and the size of the sheet is 19 x
23.5 inches.
The
etching is mounted but not presently framed. Arncliffe
is a picturesque village deep in the Yorkshire Dales...
