The present painting is titled 'Swanwick Village' and dates to the early 1960s.  Swanwick is situated between Ripley and Alfreton, about 10 miles or so north of Darley Abbey, Derby which is where the artist lived.  The work is on canvas, measures 26 x 36 inches image size, is signed, and titled and inscribed on the reverse.  There is heavy use of impasto and the painting is in very good condition. It was formerly in the collection of Nottinghamshire Education Authority and was de-accessioned...
