Title: 'Poppies and Farmhouse' (original signed lithograph / screenprint - framed)

Description: Robert Tavener, RE (1920-2004) was one of the most respected and collected British printmakers of the second half of the 20th century.  He exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy and was a senior Fellow of the Royal Society of Painter Etchers.  His work is held in a number of public collections.

This work is pencil signed, titled and is inscribed 'Artist's Proof'.  The image measures about 17.5 x 22 inches and is housed in a good quality frame which has taken a few minor knocks over the years.  However the frame suits the print well and is perfectly servicable. The print itself is in good condition. A label is on the reverse shows the title and the media employed and this appears to be in the artist's own hand.

The lithograph is likely to date to circa 1970s.  It is a strikingly similar image to a linocut 'Poppies, Farmhouse and Barn', but there are subtle differences between the two works...
