Description: Frederick Griffin, ROI, NS, SGA (1906-1976) was a painter in oil and gouache. Born in Nottingham, he studied at Nottingham School of Art, and exhibited subsequently at the Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists, New English Art Club etc, and was a full member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the Society of Graphic Artists and the National Society of Painters and Gravers.  He lived in Hampstead.

We have two oil paintings on board by Frederick Griffin. The present work measures about 13.5 x 17 inches image size on artist's board measuring 16 x 20 inches.  It is signed by the artist lower right and has the title and Griffin's address recorded verso.  We think the painting will date to circa 1970.  It was priced originally by Griffin at £20.  The silver coloured frame appears to be original and it is in fair condition for its age, with minor losses (the work is not glazed).  The painting is in very good original condition...
