Title: 'FRENCH GARDEN 2'  - original signed gouache framed

Description: Frank Joseph Archer, RWS, RE (1912-1995) was a gifted painter, printmaker and teacher.  He studied at Eastbourne School of Art and at the Royal College of Art in London 1932-38, where he won the Prix de Rome in his final year.  He exhibited extensively at the Royal Academy, Royal Society of Painters in Watercolours, and the Royal Society of Painter Etchers, and was a full member of both the RWS and RE.  Retrospective shows of his work were held at the RWS, Catto Gallery, and Bankside Gallery.  Frank Archer lived near Eastbourne in East Sussex.

The present painting 'French Garden 2' measures about 16.5 x 21.5 inches image size and about 22.5 x 27.5 inches in its fine modern frame.  The work is signed lower left and has its Catto Gallery exhibition label attached to the reverse.  The painting is not dated.  Both it and the frame are in superb condition...
