Artist: MARK GODWIN
Title:
'PARADE XVI' -
framed original screenprint in mixed media, signed and
titled
Description:
Mark Andrew
Godwin (born 1957) studied at the Central School of Art and
then at the Royal College of Art. He won a four month
scholarship with Cite International des Artistes in Paris.
He taught at Stourbridge College of Art and for six years
from 1979 he worked as a copperplate printer and plate maker
at various professional studios in London. Subsequently he
has focused on his own work as a painter and printmaker, and
he has exhibited widely in galleries in both the UK and
abroad. More recently he has moved from London to St
Leonards on Sea in East Sussex and is devoting more time to
his work in oil and acrylic, some of which are shown at the
Catto Gallery in Hampstead at prices between £5,950 to
£7,950, reflecting the esteem in which is work is held. The
artist commented on his work 'for as long as I can remember
my work has been concerned loosely with the general theme of
landscape. While working in London my major source of
inspiration was the 'cityscape' with its energy and motion,
its constantly evolving architecture, and its changes of
rhythm throughout the day and night'.
We have three fine screenprints
by Mark Godwin, all well framed and ready to
hang. Each image measures about 22.7 x 29 inches and in
their frames they measure about 32.5 x 39 inches. The
condition of each work is excellent. Each print is pencil
signed and each print is titled in pencil. In the photos we
show a specimen of the artist's signature from one print and
another is shown with the frame. Each frame is identical.
The screenprints are titled
