Title: 'Ripe Melons' - original signed colour linocut, framed

Description: These linocuts were acquired some time ago from a well known central London based dealership as the work of Margaret Thomas, RBA, NEAC (born 1916).  We think, however, that they are in fact by Mary Florence Thomas, a painter and printmaker active in the 1960s and 1970s.  Mary Florence Thomas exhibited with the New English Art Club.

The present work is titled 'Ripe Melons', numbered 1 of 12 prints only, and is pencil signed and dated 1964/65.  It is a colour linocut on thin paper measuring about 11 x 15.3 inches image size.  The print appears to be in very good condition, save for some minor creasing outside the image, but has not been examined out of the frame.  The modern gold coloured frame is in good order save for one or two minor indentations to the moulding...
