Description: The design of the Gispen 1407 (or more commonly known as the Oase lounge chair) was the result of close collaboration between Wim Rietveld and A.R. Cordemeyer. As part of the successful Gispen collection 'Furniture for a Simple Interior', the chair quickly became very popular for business and domestic use.

The series won a gold medal when unveiled at the tenth Milan Triennale in 1954. Aesthetically pleasing, solid, practical and inexpensive, the 1407 was a perfect example of the principles applied by Wim Rietveld throughout his career - principles that brought designer furniture to a wider public.

This particular example is in good used condition. There is some minor wear to fabric, especially to seat back corner (see image).  Minor marks to seat and to the back of the chair (see image)...
