Artist: Richard Bawden

Title: 'Dried Plants' - an original pencil signed etching with aquatint, framed

Description: Richard Bawden, RWS, RE, NEAC (born 1936 Essex, son of Edward Bawden) is a painter and printmaker, mainly producing watercolours, etchings and linocuts.  He studied at Chelsea and St Martin's Schools of Art and later at the Royal College of Art, London.  He has exhibited extensively, including at the Royal Academy, and is a member of the prestigious Royal Watercolour Society, New English Art Club, and the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers. He has had many solo shows in the UK and overseas and his work is held in numerous public collections, including the Tate Gallery and the Victoria & Albert Museum.

The present work is an original etching with aquatint, pencil signed, titled 'Dried Plants' and numbered 44 from an edition of 100 etchings.  It measures about 22.2 x 15.7 inches plate size and about 29.2 x 22 inches in its relatively modern frame. This work dates to the mid 1970s. Another example of this print was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1975. The etching itself appears to be in very good condition but has not been examined by us outside the frame.  There is some minor discolouration to the mount at left centre...
