Title: 'Winter Sports on Primrose Hill, London NW8' and 'Primrose Hill in Winter' - a pair of signed watercolour paintings, unframed

Description: Faith Sheppard, RGI (1920-2004) was a painter of marines, landscapes and urban scenes in both oil and watercolour. She was born in London, daughter of the artist Margaret Huntly, and studied at the Byam Shaw School of Art, the Royal  Academy Schools, and Chelsea School of Art. Sheppard exhibited at the Royal Academy, Royal Society of British Artists, Royal Institute of Oil Painters, and at the Paris Salon where she won both gold and silver medals. She was a member of the Royal Glasgow Institute and lived at Welwyn Garden City. The late HM The Queen Mother owned examples of her work.

The present works are a pair of original watercolours depicting winter sports on Primrose Hill, London during the snow of January 1979. Both the watercolours measure about 5.8 x 8.2 inches (one is slightly larger) and they are both unframed. Each watercolour is signed by the artist and one is inscribed by the artist on the reverse. They both retain good colour but both have some foxing and ideally should be cleaned professionally before framing...
