Title: Sunbathing on the Beach (an original signed painting in watercolour, framed)

Description: Michael Blaker, RE, RWA (born 1928, Hove, Sussex) is a well known painter, printmaker and author, now based in Kent. He studied at Brighton College of Art after the war, and has exhibited widely, including at the Royal Academy, Royal Society of Portrait Painters, Royal Society of Painter Etchers and Royal West of England Academy. He was elected RE 1975 (now a Senior Fellow) and RWA 1987. His work is represented in the Victoria & Albert Museum and in other leading collections.

The present work is an original watercolour, which measures about 10 x 14.8 inches image size. It is signed lower right and appears to be dated 25th July 1948 or 1949. We think this is a view on Brighton Beach with the Palace Pier in the background. The painting is in very good condition and we think it is housed in the original frame, which has suffered some losses over time...
