Gravett (born
1938, England) is a well known printmaker based in
Northern Ireland since 1989. He trained as a painter and
lithographer and started to make screenprints in the
1960s. He has exhibited internationally, including at
the British International Print Biennales at Bradford
since 1972 and the Ljubljana Print Biennale and Krakow
Biennale in Poland. Terence Gravett's work is held in a
number of public collections, including The Victoria &
Albert Museum; The Ulster Museum; The
Contemporary Arts Society, Dublin; and the Arts Council
collections of both England and Northern Ireland.
The present work is an original screenprint, pencil
signed, dated (19)67, titled 'Metabolistic Component'
and numbered 20 from a small edition of 30 prints. It
measures about 21.5 x 17.4 inches image size and about
28 x 20 inches in its original 1960s silver coloured
frame made by Gorner and Millard of Earl's Court. The
print is in good condition save for minor stains to two
small areas along the extreme left margin and some light
creases and undulations in the paper...
