Title: Abstract in grey, brown, green and lilac  - an original signed painting in mixed media (mainly gouache) - unframed    

Description: Helen Hale, ROI, NS, SWA (born 1936) is a well known painter and sculptor and member of several leading societies, including the Royal Institute of Oil Painters to which she was elected in 1973. She has exhibited also at the Royal Scottish Academy, the Royal West of England Academy, the Free Society of Painters and Sculptors etc, and has held many solo shows including at The Hawker Gallery. She was married to the artist Sydney Horne Shepherd (1909-1993) and lives in Sussex.

The present work is an original abstract painting on paper in mixed media, mainly gouache, measuring about 17 x 12 inches image size on slightly larger paper. It is signed by the artist and is likely to date to the late 1960s or early 1970s. The painting is in good condition save for a crease near to the upper edge of the work. The painting is unframed.
