Title:
Tasso's Trees - an original signed painting in acrylic,
unframed
Description: Michael
Heindorff (born 1949, Germany) is a well known painter
and printmaker who lives and works in both London and
Berlin. He attended the Art College and University of
Braunschweig (1970-74) and the Royal College of Art,
London (1975-77). Michael Heindorff has exhibited
extensively internationally, including at the Bernard
Jacobson Gallery, London, New York and Los Angeles;
Bradford Print Biennale; Victoria and Albert Museum; and
Marlborough Fine Art, London. He was elected a member of
The London Group in 1981.
The
present work is a large painting in mixed media, mainly
acrylic, which we believe was executed in the 1970s at
about the same time as the artist was working on his
suite of prints, Tasso's Trees. Indeed this painting was
acquired along with two of the Tasso's Trees prints, all
from the same corporate collection. The painting is on
heavy Arches paper measuring about 31.5 x 46 inches
approximate image size (80 x 117 cms) and it is
unframed. The work is signed by the artist lower right
and is in good condition save for some minor creasing to
the edges and one crease in the image itself which
appears to have been there in the paper prior to the
work being painted...
