Terry Willson: Terry
A Willson (born 1948) is a well known printmaker,
painter, teacher and master printer. He studied at
Huddersfield School of Art 1966-67, Bradford College of
Art 1969-70, Stourbridge College of Art 1970-73, and at
the Slade School in London 1973-75. He was awarded a
Prix de Rome Scholarship in etching and engraving
1975-76. In 1978 he established Palm Tree Editions in
Camden and printed the graphic work of such major
artists as Lucian Freud, Frank Auerbach, R B Kitaj, Ed
Ruscha, etc in addition of course to his own work.
Terry Willson exhibited extensively at home and
internationally and his work is represented in numerous
public collections, including the Tate Gallery, Victoria
& Albert Museum, Manchester City Art Gallery, Aberdeen
Art Gallery and the British Council Collection. His work
which includes erotic figure studies and is highly
distinctive.
