Ian Fraser, ARCA (Lond) (1933-1986) was a well-known printmaker, painter and lecturer.  He was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and studied at Leeds College of Art 1949-53 and at the Royal College of Art 1955-58 where he studied printmaking.  He later lectured at Camberwell, then in the United States, and later for some time at Hornsey College of Art (now part of Middlesex University).  In November 2016 the University held an Ian Fraser exhibition ‘Morning Departure’ to showcase the work of their former colleague.  He exhibited at the Royal Academy 1956-78, and at the AIA Gallery, the Curwen Gallery, the William Weston Gallery, and the Drian Galleries.  Ian Fraser lived for some time at Shepperton in Middlesex.
