Michael Hale (born 1934, London) is a well-known abstract printmaker and painter. He studied at Norwich School of Art 1952-56 and at the Royal Academy Schools 1956-60.  Michael Hale has exhibited at the Royal Academy, at the AIA Gallery 1966, and he was one of the artists included in the Arts Council exhibition, Eight English Printmakers 1970.  His work is included in the Government Art Collection (four prints) and in the collection of the University of Warwick (two prints). His style is abstract using symmetry and pattern to create optical effects in his work.  Michael Hale was Head of the Printing Department at Leicester Polytechnic.
